Steeple Gets Gold!

6th January 2017
We are delighted to announce that due to the school's dedication and commitment to sport and P.E. this year, we have been recognised by being awarded The Gold School Games Award for the second year running.  This award is extremely difficult to obtain, as it covers a huge number of areas, including participation in competition, attendance at extra-curricular clubs, and links with local sports clubs and the development of leadership skills with pupils, also every child must receive 2 hours of PE a week. We are honoured to receive this.

At Steeple, our aim is for children to experience high quality learning in P.E., to understand the contribution that regular physical activity contributes to their health and well being and to participate competitively in sports within school and out in the wider community.

Many, many congratulations to all the staff that have put time, effort and enthusiasm into this, organising and supporting a huge range of opportunities and activities for the pupils at Steeple Morden. And well done to the pupils for taking up all of the opportunities provided. Well done everyone - let's keep it up!

Claire McDonnell (Partnership Manager & School Games Organiser) presented the award in assembly.
