We expect a great deal from our pupils, in terms of achievement and behaviour, and we are rarely disappointed.
Pupils normally transfer to Bassingbourn Village College (BVC) at the age of eleven. Excellent relationships exist between BVC and its feeder Primary schools. Our teachers hold regular meetings with the College staff to discuss curriculum continuity and pastoral care.
The pupils have a number of opportunities throughout their primary years to meet peers in the other primary schools on a social/ sporting basis. In Years 5 and 6, all pupils spend two days at the College working on a joint project with the first year (Year 7) college pupils. This is called the “Bassingbourn Experience”. This enables our pupils to find their way around the College and get to know some of its staff. It also gives them an opportunity to experience some of the new activities they will encounter at the College in a supported situation.
For more information and application forms, please look at the Cambridgeshire Council Website.
